The programme is aimed to enable Russian education specialists to work with experienced professors from UCL Institute of Education — one of the World's best schools, — on the student-centred learning paradigm today: its impact on technology, school strategic management and instructional design approaches.

about the programme

The programme consists of two lectures for curriculum designers, teachers and managers, and one workshop for leaders of educational institutions. You can attend all events or one of your choice.


All classes will be held online (Zoom) with simultaneous translation, free and available after registration. There will be a selection for the workshop based on a motivation letter.


The programme is supported by the Department of Culture and Education of the British Embassy in Moscow within the UK-Russia Creative Bridge 2020-21 programme.

Diana Laurillard

Professor of Learning with Digital Technologies at the London Knowledge Lab, UCL Institute of Education (IOE), leading research projects on developing a learning design support environment for teachers, and developing software interventions for learners with low numeracy and dyscalculia. Formerly Head of the e-Learning Strategy Unit at Department for Education and Skills, Pro-Vice Chancellor for learning technologies at the Open University. Recent book: Teaching as a Design Science, Routledge. Researching MOOCs, learning design, and digital games for dyscalculia.

Ian Craig

Visiting Professor at UCL Institute of Education (IOE), University of Buckingham and UU School of Education, Dissertation Examiner for the University of London. Former teacher, head teacher, inspector (local authority and Ofsted), Local Authority Director of Education, England’s Chief Schools Adjudicator, IOE’s Interim Director of Initial Teacher Education and Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Over many years he has undertaken consultancy assignments in the UK and abroad for municipalities, governments and NGOs and has undertaken leadership and management reviews in higher education institutions and schools.

Aram Pakhchanyan

Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ayb Foundation (Armenia), curator of Management and Leadership in Education diploma programme at UU School of Education, former Executive Director of Ayb School, Vice President of ABBYY Group of Companies, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Central School of Dilijan, co-investor and member of the Advisory Board of the first venture capital fund in Armenia Granatus Ventures, in the past served on the governing boards of development organizations.
